Open the Cost Budget per Period window.

Shows a summary of the amount budgeted for each cost type in different time periods.

Note
If you have not set up your budget, then enter your budget name in the Cost Budget Names window.

Field Description

Cost Center Filter

Select the cost center that you want to work on.

Note
You should enter either a cost center, or a cost object, but not both.

Cost Object Filter

Select the cost object that you want to work on.

Note
You should enter either a cost center, or a cost object, but not both.

Budget Filter

Select the budget name that you want to work on.

View by

Select the time intervals for which you want to view budget figures.

View as

Select Net Change to create cost budget.

Note
The Net Change option displays the net change in the balance for the relevant time interval. The Balance at Date option displays the balance as of the last day in the relevant time interval.

Rounding Factor

Select a rounding factor to round the amounts in the columns. For example, if you select 1000, then all amounts are shown in thousands.

Cost Budget per Period Matrix FastTab

The first two columns in the matrix display the information of the chart of cost types.

Field Description

No.

Shows the cost type number for the selected cost center or cost object.

Name

Shows the name of the cost type.

Remaining Columns for Budget Amounts

Shows specific and total budget amounts. You can also enter budget amounts for each time interval. You can see the underlying budget entries in the matrix cells.

Transferring Budgets from the General Ledger

You can use the Copy G/L Budget to Cost Acctg. batch job to transfer budgets from the general ledger to cost accounting. After the budgets are transferred, you can see the newly transferred budgets in the Cost Budget per Period window.

You can use the Copy Cost Acctg. Budget to G/L batch job to transfer cost budgets to the general ledger budget.

Copying Cost Budgets

You can use the Copy Cost Budget batch job to copy within a budget or from budget to budget. This batch job lets you copy a budget several times and enter a factor to increase or reduce the budget amounts. For example, you can copy the budget amounts from January eleven times to create the budgets for February through December. You can copy the budget amounts from 2012 to 2013 and increase all the budget amounts by 5 percent. You can copy budget amounts from one cost center to another cost center.
