You use fault reason codes to identify possible reasons for service item faults and, if necessary, to exclude warranty and contract discounts from the service of service items.
To register a fault reason code
In the Search box, enter Service Orders, and then choose the related link.
Open the service order in which you want to register a fault reason code.
Select the line with the service item you want to register a fault reason code for.
In the Fault Reason Code field, select the relevant fault reason code. If the column is not visible, open the shortcut menu for the column headings, and then choose Choose Columns to add it.
